Perseverance Trail

Distance: ~7 miles round trip from the gate on basin Road.

Elevation: 1404ft above sea level.

Hazards: Land slides (summer) , icy trail conditions, and avalanches (winter).

Description: Perseverance Trail is one of Juneau’s Iconic trails. Originally constructed as Alaska’s first road, Perseverance brought improved access to Silverbow Basin and the Alaska Juneau Mine. Long gone are the days of gold mining, but the trail still serves the community as a recreation of super highway thrusting users from the downtown core into the Alaskan Wilderness at a dizzying pace.
